Paolo Scavino Barolo Monvigliero 2007

$145.00

“Good full, dark red. Deep, pure, brooding aromas of black cherry, licorice and leather, plus a hint of oak spices. Offers lovely aromatic lift but comes across as tightly wound, even youthfully imploded, today, showing less texture than the more open-knit Ambrogio. Best on the finish now, showing talc-like tannins and classic structure. This very firmly built wine, from the northernmost vineyard in the Barolo zone, needs a good five or six years to expand in bottle.” 92+ points, Stephen Tanzer Vinous
